Grand Lido is best ,followed by the Sandals (the high end ones -but you can get good deals on some of their older resorts ,Couples is great too.But many resorts their are wonderful beautiful places and Jamaica on its own is so romantic. My vote would be for Grand Palladium /Lady Hamilton resort its a beautiful new resort on one of the largest properties ,so you will have some privacy (not wall to wall people on the beaches -or the pools)The rooms are gorgeous and the food and service are second to none.go to bookit.com for some incredible deals on vacations right now.congratulations and have the honeymoon of a lifetime

I wouldn’t even consider an all inclusive. I like to experience the real culture of the country I’m in, especially Jamaica. Your gated Americanized “apartment community” will be beautiful but you’ll only see other tourists. Why not go to a very nice beach resort on 7 mile beach in Negril. I went in March and stayed at Superclubs “Rooms on the Beach” in Negril. Either way go to Trip Advisor and research places to stay. There are many customer reviews on the site that should help you out.

Be careful of where you stay and make sure you get what you want. Some of the all inclusives are in desolate areas and if you want to get out to explore you have to travel many miles in some cases to get to the nearest town or tourist attraction.

I would stay in or near Negril which is a quaint little tourist town full of friendly locals. Nice clubs, beaches, activities, restaurants, shopping malls and how can you possibly forget Ricks Cafe, A MUST SEE!

I researched numerous resorts in Jamaica for approximately 6 months before finally deciding on Couples Negril. We stayed 10.4.05 thru 10.14.05 and we wish we could have stayed forever!

My fav thing about this resort was that it didn’t feel highly commercialized/Americanized. The lush, tropical walkways at CN were amazing. I probably took 100 pictures of all the flowers, plants, palms, creeks, ponds, etc.

The staff at CN goes above and beyond. They are truly the best I’ve ever seen and I’ve previously stayed at resorts in Hawaii, Bahamas, Grand Cayman, and Jamaica. From the front desk, to guest relations, to housekeeping, to food servers, to groundkeepers….they all had smiles on their faces and a pleasant greeting for us everytime we encountered them.

I must admit, we only used the pool once because we were too drawn to the beach. The pool is very nice though – that pool bar rocks! Red flag service on the beach was great. My steady stream of Dirty Bananas kept me on the beach for hours. When I got too hot, I’d just drag my floatie cushion into the water and hang out there for an hour or so. The ocean was so refreshing and clean feeling compared to the beaches out here in Southern California. We swam in the ocean even when it was raining! We were never hassled by any vendors while sunbathing. We also never had trouble finding lounge chairs no matter what time of the day we hit the beach.

CN offers many included activities, but we didn’t take advantage of many of them. We did go on the catamaran cruise and that was awesome. We booked our own off-site excursions before ever arriving in Jamaica. I had been in contact with Soloman and Sienna of Talk of the Town Tours for months before our trip and so our itinerary was all worked out upon our arrival. We spent 2 separate days with them. The first trip was to Nine Mile – Bob Marley’s birthplace, childhood home, and final resting place. What an experience that was! The other day we spent with them they took us to Benji’s Paradise, shopping in Negril, and Rick’s Cafe. Benji’s property is like Garden of Eden…a true paradise! Rick’s Cafe in Negril is a really cool party spot. We got there just in time to watch the cliff divers work their magic at sunset. What a show that was! There’s also a live band, restaurant, and huge bar. We’re so glad we ventured out to experience some of the “real” Jamaica (i.e. Nine Mile and Benji’s Paradise). These excursions were some of the highlights of our honeymoon.

Basically if you want a nice AI your going to pay alot. There seem to be two extremes, either a nice AI like Sandals or Beaches, or something that is nice and clean but more simple for a very reasonable price, there really isn’t much in between.

Personally I’m not crazy about AI. The food to me is generally rather bland, the drinks are watered down and you tend to not want to leave since you paid for all you can eat and drink.

Also, as someone else stated, if your staying AI you may as well go to Florida, why go to another country if your just going to be locked away in a gated community with other Americans eating bland American food. Your going to Jamaica to experience another place and country, if you want a resort go to Orlando.

Sandals is a bit dull. Negril is an excellent adventure especially for folks who don’t mind sand in their sleeping bags. My favourite is Tryall Villas. It’s not cheap, but you’ll really have a great honeymon!

I have been to Jamaica 2 times. I stayed all-inclusive twice at two different resorts! The first year I went to the holiday inn sunspree resort. I would not really recommend it there, the food wasn’t too great. The second time I stayed at the RIU, its not even a year old yet! Go there you will love it! Built in mini bar in room, VODKA, RUM, GIN, and Tequila despensers in room. Swim up bar, amazing food with four different restraunts on the resort plus buffet. Its all inclusive, nice pool, and amazing! Hope I helped.

They have amazing offers and 2 years ago was the first time my husband and I went. We stayed at Sandals Ocho Rios. The food, staff, and drinks were wonderful. They have activities planned if you want to join them. I haven’t tried any other resorts but I was so impressed by Sandals that I will book with them again.

First, you would have to stay in Negril… the beaches are beautiful. Secondly the Grand Lido Negril is the ultimate in SUPER all-inclusive. And if you’re into baring it all… they do have a optional nude side. Feel a little adventurous you can visit Hedonism next door.

Sandals is a great resort also that caters to couples. Either one you really can’t go wrong. But Negril is a must for location.

Couples Ocho Rios. They just did a multi-million dollar renovation, and it was great before that.
