I am going on vacation to Montego BAY-Jamaica on Sunday? Is it safe there now with the drug wars going on?

I am nervous about going! I am going to a resort! So the resort is safe-right? The drug wars are in Kigston, which is far from Monrego BAY-RIGHT?? Can anyone fill me in on what is going on? Who can I call to ask? The resort I am staying at??? Someone said the EMBASSY? Any advice? THANKS! Is Jamaica a nice place to go?

    Calm down… Jamaica is a wonderful place to go. & you dont have anything to worry about in Montego Bay…

    Ahh bwouy..babes, where are you getting your news. There is no drug war in jamaica, please read up carefully and dnt follow everything on the news. Mobay is beautiful and you are fine. It is one section of kingston that was in turmoil but it has calmed down. As with any country you go to, always take care and dnt venture into unknown areas by yourself.

    Drug wars?? Are you referring to the attempt to extradite a drug lord from Kingston to the US? That’s in Kingston, far away from Montego Bay. MoBay isn’t really that safe, but it isn’t because of drug wars. As long as you stay on the resort property, you will be fine.

    yea u should be ok in Montego Bay…it’s far enough from Kingston…but dont venture off..stay on ur resort and the clubs around there.

    totally safe.

    the resort is the safest part about it.

    they are far away and I am sure they have drug wars in Montego Bay also… however… there are problems in every country.

    The resorts main priority is keeping you safe.

    Jamaica is a BEAUTIFUL place to visit… with so much to do and see.

    Just don’t worry about the safety… you will just ruin your whole trip.

    You worry too much!!!! I just returned from my upteenth visit to JA and it was no different than any other time which was to say, awesome. Drug wars…..LMAO. There are no ‘drug’ wars going on in Kingston. An extradtion is in process by the US and JA of Christopher “Dudus” Coke.
