Which beach is in your opinion better: Karon or Kata? If you’ve been on both, share your thoughts and ideas why you would prefer one to the other (cleaner sand, water, better shopping, less crowded, hotels, etc) in March.
Also how do they both compare to Patong?

karon beach is the main interest to me,if possible im looking for something different from the usual tourist info.something on the lines of local knowledge on restaurants,bars,etc…and things of local interest.

Best hotel directly on Karon Beach in Phuket?

After a little research I think that this will be the best beach to stay on. We are a young couple in our late 20s. WE want it to be relaxing but close to nightlife, I want to spend around 100 to 150 a night if it is a nice hotel and costs a little less then even better. I want to be directly on the beach…the closer the better. Any ideas? Thank you
Taxi Fare from Karon Beach to Patong Beach?

From my own research I’ve surmised that it is quite expensive to take taxi (or tuk tuk or otherwise) from Karon Beach to Patong Beach, perhaps as much as $10 US or am I off? Is there any cheap way to get from Karon Beach to Patong Beach and vice versa?
Regarding Hungrymon’s comment I’m not worried about people staring at me. I’m Chinese so I think I might fit in better than you so I might give those buses a try.

Hi ! i am going to thailand in july and staying 11 nights in phuket (Centara Resort Karon Beach) and 2 nights in bangkok (Indra regent Hotel) it is my first time traveling out of australia and i am very nervous, i am 18 and am going with my boyfriend, does anyone have any advice or stayed at these places before? Or have any good tips on things to and not to do ?? Thanks heaps 
How much is Taxi from Karon Beach Phuket to Patong?

Going to Phuket in early Jan. Might stay at PineapplePhuket in Karon Beach. I’m worried that the taxi will charge me $10 US to get to Patong Beach where all the fun is. Should I stay in Patong Beach instead?
How long would it take to walk from Karon Beach to Patong Beach?
